Celebrate Selfridges’ Centenary. Their founder, Harry Gordon Selfridge was a visionary, known as the ‘Showman of Shopping’. In 1909 he understood that to make customers spend, you have to capture their imagination. It is this belief that has been entrenched in Selfridges throughout the last 100 years and formed the focus of the advertising brief.
With access to their rich archive of images, BMB created a Pop Art inspired ad featuring some of the iconic moments from the last 100 years.
The campaign itself has been a huge success and the work quickly filtered into the store windows and guides. In a period of downturn across the industry, Selfridges bucked the trend with sales exceeding all targets by a significant margin throughout the month of advertising activity.
