Smartphones are being developed and launched at a ferocious rate. Our challenge was to not only make people sit up and notice how cutting edge the Samsung Galaxy SII is, but also to prove it.
Samsung is all about relentlessly pushing technology to its limits. We needed to test what limit the Galaxy SII could be pushed to. We found out that a 3G antenna had been assembled 3km away from the peak of Mount Everest. So this got us thinking; using 3G technology, could we be the first to Tweet from the top of the world?
With a single Tweet we generated over £2.5m is Advertising, Media and PR value and spawned a wave of press coverage stretching all the way from Television Centre to the LA Times, reaching over 124 million people in the process - including the good people at Twitter themselves.
