Beattie McGuinness Bungay launched the information blanket in Uganda in May 2011, where the infant mortality rate is among the highest in the world.

The Information Blanket was founded on one simple premise: babies need blankets and parents need basic information on providing care for their baby. Babies don’t come with instruction manuals and lack of information is a massive contributor to infant mortality. The blanket provides this key information on it; breast feeding frequency, vaccination scheduling, growth rates and illness warning signs.
